SatelliteQuotes started as a roof quote widget: a homeowner types an address, the roof is traced from satellite imagery, and they leave their details to see the contractor’s price. The same map can measure a driveway, a fence line, a yard or an exterior wall. So now it does. The widget quotes 21 exterior trades from one script tag.

The 21 trades, by how they are measured

Every trade is priced from a quantity the map can produce. There are four kinds.

• Roof surface — roofing, roof cleaning, solar. The footprint is traced automatically from building data and scaled by the roof pitch, because the roof is bigger than the footprint. Priced per square foot.
• Roof edge — gutters, gutter guards. The eaves are the edge of the same footprint. Priced per linear foot.
• Wall area — siding, exterior painting. Perimeter × storeys × 9 ft, less 15% for windows and doors. Priced per square foot.
• Traced area or line — driveway paving, sealcoating, concrete, pavers and hardscape, decks, fencing, landscaping, sod, artificial turf, irrigation, pools, pressure washing, snow removal and land clearing. Nothing to detect here, so the homeowner traces it: tap each corner on the satellite view and the square feet (or, for a fence, the linear feet) update as they go.

Draw it yourself, in a few taps

For a driveway or a fence there is no building outline to snap to, and the old “pick a house” step made no sense. Those trades now open straight into drawing mode, zoomed in close enough to see the edge of the concrete. Tap the corners, drag one if it is off, and the measurement is live in the panel. It takes a homeowner about twenty seconds, which is less time than filling in a contact form — and they get a number for it.

Good, better, best — with real photos

Each trade ships with a starter catalogue of three tiers: for fencing that is chain link, six-foot wood privacy and vinyl or aluminium; for gutters, vinyl sectional, seamless 5-inch aluminium and copper; for driveways, asphalt overlay, full-depth asphalt and heavy-duty asphalt on a reinforced base. Every tile shows a photograph of the product, and an Info button opens a short card: what it is, what it is best for, how long it lasts. Once the price is unlocked the three tiers sit side by side so the homeowner can compare — see why three tiers close more jobs. Replace any of it with your own materials, photos and rates in the dashboard.

One widget, one tag, one trade per page
